Fabricant 100 Has Piqued my Interest

Chapter One of Fabricant 100 by Daisuke Enoshima released today on the Shönen Jump and Manga Plus apps.

Fabricant 100 – Shonen Jump

There was once a doctor fixated on creating the “ideal human being.” After the doctor’s death, his fabricant creations start attacking humans in order to attain the perfect body. When Ashibi Yao’s entire family is murdered by these fabricants, he sets out on a journey of revenge accompanied by the doctor’s final creation, Fabricant 100.

Fabricant 100 – Manga Plus

The idea of someone creating living beings with just some fabric and thread is quite an interesting concept to me. The revenge aspect of the story was to be expected as there usually is some form of revenge in most Shönen manga.

Spoiler Warning!

Each fabricant that was created was made stronger than the last, with 100 being the final one made. 100 has ended up joining Ashiba with the deal being that when he turns 18 (he is currently 14), 100 can have his body, and in exchange she will help Ashiba seek revenge on the other 99 for killing his entire family. I’ll leave the rest of the chapter out as I don’t want to spoil too much, so go read it!

There are so many unknowns right now, for example; Why did 100 accept the deal instead of just killing Ashiba? Why did the doctor create them in the first place when we know that beings can never be perfect?

I’m sure many more questions will arise as the series continues and hopefully they get answered. A few issues I have are that the series will be very short, I’m not expecting One Piece numbers with regards to the amount of chapters, but just from chapter one it’s not hard to see. Another issue is that unless the author has something big planned story wise, readers will drop it fairly quickly.

As the post title says, it has piqued my interest and I am looking forward to the next chapter.
